this year

2 min read
This year as been insane so far.
The begging of the year i couldn't have imagined what would happen myself. I met an awesome guy and learned a lot about tattooing.
The following of the year, which meant university crazyness, class by morning, class by night, working in the afternoon, drawing, creating, busy and fast!

Now almost ending the last semester, i have completed the intership, tattooing more, [lacks a bit discipline to make more drawings, but ow well].
I've learned how to make sketchbooks, they turned to be really awesome and i have a lot of comissions on thouse already... ow christmas... ( you can see some sketchbooks on my blog i might upload them here all at once or slowly soon...)

what else? i moved in with my boyfriend and he gave me a cat as birthday gift! Could i be happier? he's the cat version of my character, elliot: blue eyes, white fur, black tail and ears, half siamese, the most loving, cute, crying creature in the world. he's  my new passion, sure. (as i write, he sat down between my arms in front of the keyboard).

and me and my bf's colletive of art have been selected to show up on the museum, that's right! we're showing until up to march 2011 a summup of printings, drawings, photographs, paintings and some sculptures of ours at the contemporary art museum of curitiba! you can check the photos of the making of the 1 million dollar exposition in my blog too, or check the opening at the colletive's blog

now, the ending of fine arts school and some minor pendings from graphic design course, i've been cleaning up my life and organizing for a breaking new fase about to begin.

lots of projects, lots of ideas.

[the whole journal is an excuse why i have not been uploading.]

Featuring Hair

So, i'm up to something.

I was having these crazy ideas. I changed my older account Janaina to feature only tattoo related work, and pencils. For i'm an annoying soul that likes to study and loves art, i've been wondering about human society and aesthetics, related to tattoo and body and hair. [i hate english i need more vocabulary to explain theories].

SO. I've seen things [a.k.a. wikipedia and google search] about indians, ancient tribals and how society envolved, and much about religious stuff and also a lot about the development of tattoo art and what was already done to decorate the body in many ways.

well, i have considered a lot of stuff, more about human hair and fur and, what i want to share, eyebrows. and for some mystic meanings, aliens crop circles. xD so, lots of tribal groups have their own patterns that envolve into something more specific through time, like maori, celtic patterns, japanese patterns, bizantine, maia, and many more in everyway of social relation [as for me art is everything] so you have cloths, drawings, archteture, tools etc. but, take for example maori and apply those textures to the shaving of the body.

we have hair. it's there, annoying. we cut it off anyway. nowadays more for aesthetics then for higien. why not cut if off into patterns? the example more dramatic would be to draw you eyebrows in shapes. any kind of shape would already be really weird for no one does anything with the eyebrows and it's something that would be instantly noticed on the face. its radical, but not crazy.

it's just diferent.

and i think our society envolved enought not to exclude diferent things -justbecause- they're diferent.

but this all came up to mind again after searching for hair! i'm drawing something and wanted to see how hair moves, and actually found a lot of cool(weird) stuff on hair. so i'm making this my first feature! uhul!!! :boogie:
